This editorial comes in two parts: some remarks on the role of satellites for regional telecommunications; and a brief introduction to the papers in this issue.

Leith H. Campbell, Managing Editor
Dr Leith Campbell is an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University. He has spent more than 35 years in the telecommunications industry, both in research and development and as an international consultant on telecommunications regulation. He is the Managing Editor of this Journal.
